Pretrial detention extends for KU blast facilitator

A counter-terrorism court has extended the custody of a suspected facilitator of the suicide bomber who targeted Chinese professors at the University of Karachi in April this year for four days.

Papa Bux, believed to be a commander of the banned Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) sleeper cell, was brought before the ATC at the end of his pre-trial detention.

The investigator said that the investigation against the suspect was not yet complete, and therefore begged the judge to extend his pre-trial detention. The court, granting the request of the OI, gave the accused custody to the police and ordered the officer to present him at the next court date, July 20, together with a report of stage. Bux was arrested in Mauripur last week. According to the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), a prosecution witness identified the commander held by the BLA during an identification parade outside a court.

During interrogation, he revealed that he was the leader of the BLA sleeper cell in Karachi and used to conduct target reconnaissance for the BLA, including sensitive facilities and Chinese nationals working at the University of Karachi under the command of the commander of his organization. , Khalil Baloch aka Moosa.

He also held meetings with Habitan Bashir, the husband of Shari Baloch, the suicide bomber who attacked the Chinese tutors in KU and other important commanders including Zaib in Karachi, and remained in coordination with them until the KU explosion to occur.
